The project required all existing live documents to be converted to the new single template and styled according to the 3 different document types – Guidance, Notices, Policies.

The use of macros were key to the success. Creating one initial simple selection dialogue for the choice of type and collection of basic document information made new document authoring easy.

The template was then applied retrospectively to all current documents to ensure authors could easily take over and work to the new standards.

The template was rolled out nationally to all regional offices around the UK as part of a server and pc upgrade programme.

The resulting documents could then be printed or published for viewing online through a document library system.
